We have published major reports in the specialized segment of “AUTOMOTIVE FILTERS”. Our first very comprehensive report covered “Engine – oil, air and fuel” filters, published originally in the late 90’s. This report, although not up-to-date- regarding the market size, has tremendous details of this challenging application and is still meaningful with regard to its content. We offer this report at a significant discount. In Part I little has changed during the last 8-10 years. AIR-INTAKE FILTERS was published several years ago but completely updated in late 2006. We have addressed the many new developments including the use of Nanofibers notably PowerCore® from DONALDSON and a similar concept from MANN & HUMMEL. The extensive use of Nonwovens in Japanese cars, but also in Korea and China , is extensively covered. This trend may eventually effect North America and Europe . A table of contents follows. CABIN AIR FILTERS have been invented in Europe and are being used worldwide. In Europe, 95% of all new cars are being furnished with these filters, Japan 70%, Latin and South America 60%, North America 30-40%, China 35%, the trend is increasing. Foremost in Europe the “after market” is significant. The latest trend is the change to “combination filter” elements: removing not only ‘particulates’ but also ‘odor and toxic gaseous’.
